Middle School Football shuts out Athens

The Wellsboro Middle School Football team shut out Athens 26-0 on Wednesday, September 9 to start off their season with a win.
Aidan Hauser opened the game with a touchdown run after the Hornet defense took possession on downs. Carson Davis would convert the extra point. Connor Ramsey would score two touchdowns for the Hornets on the following two possessions, one of them set up by a long punt return by Silas Wagaman.
The Hornet defense would remain stout throughout the game, led by linebackers Tyler Hancock and Alex Burrell. Defensive ends Carson Davis and Zach Florio set the tone on the defensive perimeter.
Aidan Hauser would add a punt return for a touchdown to end scoring for the night. Davis would add the extra point to give the Hornets a victory.
The Hornets start the 2015 season 1-0. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 16 as they travel to Troy.
