By: N/A  /  September 25, 1991

A 10 yard touchdown pass from Rob Davis to Chris Wilcox late in the first half gave North Penn a 7-0 football win over Wellsboro Saturday at Blossburg.

The win was the first for the Panthers, who currently sport a 1-3 mark. Wellsboro falls to 0-4.

In addition to scoring the games's lone touchdown, Wilcox also accounted for two of the Panthers' three pass interceptions on the day. His second interception ended a Hornet threat late in the game.

Ben Randise had a big game for North Penn, running for a game high 111 yards on 25 carries. Davis added 45 yards on 13 totes as the Panthers rushed for 165 yards. Wilcox caught three passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. Davis kicked the extra point.

For the Hornets, four turnovers, including three interceptions, proved costly. North Penn turned the ball over once, on an interception.

Erick Crawford led the Wellsboro ground attack, gaining 60 yards on 11 carries. Chris Morral caught two of quarterback Chad Watters' three completions for 14 yards.

North Penn's touchdown came with under a minute left to play in the second quarter, ending a 77 yard drive which began when the Panthers took over on downs at their own 23-yard line.

The game was a non-leaguer for both squads.

Wellsboro travels to Sayre this Saturday, September 28 for an 8:00 p.m. game versus the Redskins.
