The 2008 regular season is over, and the Morton Jones Trophy is back at Wellsboro. The Hornets defeated rival North Penn 28-7. The Hornets got on the board first when Senior Quarterback Cameron Jones setup a screen pass to Senior Fullback Pat Driebelbies to put the Hornets up 7-0.

Jones connected again in the half with Senior Receiver Garrett Stager for another touchdown to put the Hornets up 14-0 going into halftime. In the second half, Senior Safety Jake Coolidge intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to put the Hornets up 22-0 after the two point conversion. The Hornets finished out the scoring when Jones connected with Sophomore Receiver Ethan Callahan for his first Varsity touchdown reception.

With the win, Wellsboro finishes up the regular season 7-3 and will be going to the District Playoffs for the first time in 13 years next week. Stay tuned as will announce the upcoming opponent later this weekend.
