The first half of the 2009 football season is officially over. In week 5 action, Athens picked up a homecoming win over North Penn, Towanda dropped Cowanesque to 0-5 on the year by defeating them 63-0, Wyalusing fell to Montgomery in overtime, Troy rolled over South Williamsport, and Columbia Montour Vo-Tech scored 30 unanswered points to beat Canton.
In other District 4 action, Montoursville battled back to beat Jersey Shore thanks to Cody Haupt's 52 carry, 242 yard performance and Loyalsock shut out Bloomsburg.
