JV Hornets Drop Road Game At Troy

Wellsboro's JV Football team fell 44-8 at Alparon Park to Troy Monday evening.

The Hornets' lone touchdown came on a pass from sophomore Derrick Blasz to freshman Grady Morral.

“We lost to a tough Troy team tonight who's had a lot of success in their program, and it shows at all levels," coach Bryce Bitner said. "We made costly mistakes tonight that turned into huge plays for them and set us back early. Troy capitalized and we struggled to answer. I think that was a good learning lesson for the boys to play tough competition and see how the little details matter if you want to compete with the good teams. They're a well coached team and a program with a good football culture, so it's always fun to challenge them and see where your guys are at. We’ll be back at practice and continue to get better every day in preparation for our next competition."

The loss drop the Hornets to 2-2. They are back in action on October 5 against Athens.
